Greg Ganz
Greg is a graduate of the University of Sydney, having completed a Bachelor of Economics
degree in 1978, Bachelor of Laws degree in 1980 and Master of Laws degree in 1985.
He is a former member of the Law Society's Specialist Accreditation Taxation Advisory Committee
and a current member of the Taxation Institute of Australia's Education Committee.
Greg is the author of a number of papers on taxation and superannuation matters and lectures
on these topics to practitioners. He practises extensively in all areas of taxation including
domestic and international tax, stamp duty and payroll tax, and advises on all areas of superannuation
with particular emphasis on self-managed funds.
Past projects include as examples:
- advising on tax aspects of co-operative becoming a company under the Corporations Law.
- advising on tax aspects of public float.
- advising on tax aspects of proposed merger of co-operatives.
- advising on tax and superannuation aspects for trustee of defined benefit superannuation
fund.
- advising on tax aspects of joint venture structures for chocolate manufacturer, real estate
agent, IT venturers and venturers in other industries.
- advising generally on tax effective structures with particular regard to CGT aspects.
- advising on Australian taxation consequences of offshore investment structures including
liasing with offshore tax advisers.
- advising generally on GST issues and, in particular, for the taxi and direct selling industries.
- advising vendors on tax aspects of sale of shares and businesses and drafting of documents.
