Yon Astar

Yon graduated with Commerce and Law degrees from the University of New South Wales in 2001.

He was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2004. Prior to joining Parry Carroll he was an in-house lawyer at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.

Yon's area of practice is in commercial litigation and insolvency. He has been involved in proceedings in the Local, District and Supreme Courts of New South Wales as well as in the Federal Court of Australia. Examples of matters he has worked on include:

  • Contractual and commercial disputes;
  • Applications to set aside statutory demands;
  • Liquidators' claims;
  • Debt recovery;
  • Bankruptcy matters;
  • ASIC examinations;
  • Advice on the Corporations Act.

Yon speaks fluent Indonesian.
